Interactivity

Some food for thought.

Below are some forms of interactivity which will be covered in Chris Hales' upcoming workshop:
  • Interactive films - where the audience changes the playout of the film
  • "Customised" films that include specific data, imagery or sounds from a viewer
  • Live audience voting with Poll Everywhere (the audience can use smartphone, SMS, or Twitter)
  • Interactive karaoke
  • Using YouTube "annotations" to make hyperlinked narratives ("branching narrative" films)

Interactive installations, using interesting interfaces, the first three of which Chris will bring to the workshop:
  • Arduino microcontroller board with sensors - link
  • Makey Makey microcontroller board - link
  • Neurosky Mindwave - link and link
  • Input from Microphone (frequency, volume)
  • Computer camera vision (using webcam for detection of movement, analysing if somebody smiles, checking for colours or lights etc.)
  • Reactivision - link
